Highlights are a bright and fun, they can blend your grey hair coming in as well as give you an all over glow. Lowlights are deep and shiny, they can give your hair depth and dimension. Together they can give you the look you have always wanted.

Hi Tammy-
ReplyDeleteI am a hairstylist, who first went to school and graduated in 1991, worked only a few years (not even all that time in hair, some in just nails). I took a break for several years while moving around with my husband. Now I am planted and 2 yrs ago I went back to school to obtain my license here in a different state. I am hungry to learn!!!
I have my own salon and rent out 2 chairs, one full time and one part time. The salon is doing ok. I lack confidence (even though I pretend well!) Because the salon is new'ish I have many new clients coming in and all pose different challenges. I have learned a lot through my own mistakes and sometimes I have been very frustrated with myself. I feel like I need a mentor! Being a salon owner already it's hard to get other salon owners or stylists to help me. I am totally intrigued and indebted to you for your tutorial videos and your willingness to share what you know.
I love the technique you use for foiling. I was wondering what brand of foils you use and do you buy them precut or do you cut them yourself?
I have a million and one questions but I'll suffice it at this one for now!!
Thanks again,
Kim
Thank you! and good for you for opening your own salon. I buy Salon Care Professional the 800 series 9 x 10 3/4 in. and I do cut them myself I just got some more today at Sallys for $8.49. You get a really big box too. Maybe I should do a tutorial on how I make them:) If you ever have any questions, please don't be afraid to ask:)

Hi Tammy I also love watching your videos I've been a stylist for 3 years but haven't had alot of experience with color. I also love the way you foil. I would be interested in watching a tutorial for doing a lowlight in platinum blonde hair, its a tricky one because I don't want it to look grey! And also watching a retouch weave. That seems to be tricky for me as well. Trying to find my pattern again :/
